Time to Catch Huge Largemouth Bass

What is the best time to catch huge largemouth bass? In this vlog, I will give some bass fishing tips on when the easiest and best time to catch big bass is. The late fall and winter is a time when fish start to put on a lot of weight for insulation from the cold lake water, but the females also start to produce eggs in anticipation of the spawn in the spring time. Fishing during the colder months leading up into spring gives you the best chance to catch a huge bass on rod and reel and maybe your personal best bass. There are many long bass caught in the summer and late spring that have the potential to be giant ten-pound largemouth bass when they are producing eggs in the colder months. When a big female bass is in the peak of producing fish eggs, she can be up to 10-20% heavier than when she is not producing eggs. When you factor in the lower metabolism that occurs during the winter months, that can produce some of the biggest bass ever if the lake is healthy and has plenty of forage.

My father suggested we go fishing while we were together during the holidays and we were able to get on some big bass that were starting to fill up with eggs. I ended up catching a huge bass on a spinnerbait that was one of the healthiest fish I have ever caught. We caught most of our fish on shad lure presentations fishing around wind blown banks with hard bottom.

It was my father that taught me how-to fish for bass, so now that I get to take him fishing and show him how to catch bass in new and different ways, it is great bonding time. Even if you can’t spend time on the water with your best friends and family during the colder months, take time to go hunting, hiking or camping with the ones that matter most. It’s great memories and you might get to see some things in the wild great outdoors that others don’t.

Mail me stuff that won’t kill me : )
